In this cute, cautionary animated adventure, two unlikely friends - a red fox named Tod (Mickey Rooney) and a hound dog called Copper (Kurt Russell) - struggle to preserve their friendship despite their emerging instincts and the surrounding social pressures demanding them to literally be at each other's throats. Exciting adventures including a brush with a speeding locomotive as well as a ferocious bear result in the old buddies clinging onto their love and respect for one another.
