Maverick British director Michael Winterbottom uses the notorious Italian-set Amanda Knox-Meredith Kercher murder case as the base from which to construct a convoluted mystery. Film director Lang (Daniel Brühl) travels to Siena for the appeal of convicted murderer Jessica Fuller (as in Knox). Hooking up with ex-pat reporter Simone Ford (Kate Beckinsale) to get some background colour, he attempts to write a script... but find himself losing his grip. Model Cara Delevingne impresses as a vulnerable British student who casts a spell on Lang.
