As he nears adulthood, aspiring Jedi Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) struggles to control his dark side despite the best efforts of his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and the affections of young senator Padme (Natalie Portman). Although his mastery of the Force increases, Anakin's volatile nature puts the Republic at risk, especially as scheming Sith lord Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) is engineering a war that could deliver the galaxy into the hands of evil.
