Writer-director Sofia Coppola's follow-up to indie hit Lost In Translation is a much grander affair, telling the story of France's most maligned noblewoman. Kirsten Dunst makes herself at home amongst the bigwigs of 18th century Versailles as the cosseted, corseted young wife of Louis XVI (Jason Schwartzman). The backdrop is suitably opulent, but Coppola stages her own revolution by painting the much-vilified queen in a sympathetic light and adding a cool contemporary soundtrack.
